Climate Health Promoter Graduation!

Congratulations to our 2nd Cohort of Climate Health Promoters!

On November 16th, we proudly graduated 28 new Climate Health Promoters (CHPs) into the community! The graduation ceremony marked the completion of a 6-week climate health training program, facilitated by LifeLong Medical Center. During the program, participants developed impactful community projects in collaboration with Richmond Rising organizations, focusing on climate health, healthy eating, and community advocacy.

At the graduation, the CHPs presented their diverse and inspiring community projects. One project was designed with Urban Tilth to organize a Climate-Friendly Diet Picnic, bringing together community members to promote healthy eating and environmental stewardship. Another group developed a collaboration with Grid Alternatives on community organizing efforts to expand access to solar panels for low-income and multi-family households. These projects are just a glimpse of the innovative ideas our new Climate Health Promoters are bringing to life!

You can explore some of our graduates' final projects below.

The graduates were celebrated and sent off with some climate health goody bags including air purifiers, fire kits, reusable water bottles, and more!

If you're interested in joining the next cohort and building skills to promote healthy eating and sustainable living in Richmond, keep an eye out for our next training in Spring 2025. We will offer both English and Spanish-language training sessions 2-3 times a year through 2028. If you live in the Iron Triangle, Coronado, or Santa Fe neighborhoods of Richmond, you are eligible to apply!
